If you are participating in the CrossFit Games Open and can’t make it out on Saturday, you may do the 14.4 WOD at 11 am today with Robin. Please let us know if neither of these times work for you and we’ll figure something out.

For those who aren’t competing, today is the usual Friday’s choose your own adventure. Skill work of your choice, plus a conditioning workout from earlier this week OR an entire workout from earlier this week.

There has been some chatter on Facebook about how long it will take to row 60 calories or how many metres it will take. I found an online calculator, and this is what it’s told me (assuming it’s correct).

60 cal at 1:40/500 m pace = 2:24 or 720 m.

60 cal at 1:50/500m pace = 3:00 or 818 m.

60 cal at 2:00/500 m pace = 3:40 or 917 m.

60 cal at 2:10/500 m pace = 4:15 or 981 m.

60 cal at 2:20/500 m pace = 4:45 or 1054 m.

The measurements involved in rowing can be difficult to wrap your head around, but essentially if you pull harder, you will be able to do more work in a shorter time, and thus have to travel a shorter distance.
