If anyone was wondering where the delightful Sots press comes from, it’s this guy, Viktor Sots. He was a Soviet weightlifter, and back in the day, he could snatch 190 and clean and jerk 230+…. and yes, those are kilograms. That’s 419 lbs and 507 lbs, respectively.
