A. Handstand work: 3xME hold, heel pulls, handstand push up negatives (depending on ability)
B. A little something for Hillary on her birthday:
21-15-9 reps each of: Row for calories, 120/85 lb barbell shoulder to overhead, and situps.
There will be cake for the noon and evening classes. Hillary will likely be throwing down around 6 pm, so come on out and join her in the suffering fun.

Cake before or after the wod?
Happy birthday H.
Colin, nice job with the font choice…
Happy Birthday Hillary!! I won’t be in today, parent teacher interviews, but have a great day and fun workout!!!!
I tweaked the rep scheme for the morning class because people’s shoulders were a little smoked from the pushups yesterday. It’s a little complicated, but I dialed back the overhead work to 12-9-6, and bumped up the situps to 42-30-18. Rowing stayed the same.
Happy Birthday Hillary!!!
Colin, you are very talented.
Happy Birthday Hillary! I hope you’re having a great day!
Happy birthday Hillary, the workout in honor of you was great…and thanks for sharing your cake – it was yummo!!!
A. Handstand work was a first for me today! Glad i finally got one, definitely have some work to do there…but it was good hard work!
B. The nooners got a tweaked version, was great! BB, 40#, i think it might have been ok for me to have it a bit heavier? …it’s always hard for me to tell how i will do getting through it. 8:51
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HILLARY! I enjoyed your WOD, too. That Colin is a creative and hardworking guy. It’s not every girl who gets that kind of a layout on her birthday. And even if they did, it wouldn’t mean as much if their name only had, say, 4 letters.
A. Totally couldn’t get going with this today. I’ve never really had trouble kicking up into a handstand but it wasn’t happening today. Did some ring pushup-type holds instead of handstand holds.
B. 9:09 Rx’d. Fun one.
I have to say that Hillary kicked my butt on this one. Strangely, the things she’s good at are pretty much the opposite to what I’m good at. The scores were 8:04 for Hillary, and 9:25 for me, primarily because of the overhead work… and the situps. I was faster on the rowing, but that turned out to be irrelevant.
I think the amended numbers were a good choice, as 21-15-9 overhead reps would have been pretty tough (speaking for myself, of course).
Thanks for the great birthday WOD, cake and wishes everyone!! I had a great day, and a great WOD.
A) max handstand hold x3 – each for about a minute
handstand negatives – got down to 1 abmat and 10# plates
B) 8:04 Rx. managed to get all the push press unbroken. I can see that 21 would have been deadly. Based on how my legs have been feeling since Monday and Tuesday’s wods, I really didn’t want to have to clean that bar off the ground if I had to break up the sets.
