A. 125# Front Squat

Handstand shoulder touches
20# DB’s for lunges
Pull ups were scaled to ring rows.
Great job today ladies!
A. I watched Doug bang out 3 perfect front squat reps at 225 (10 lbs above his previous — admittedly probably conservative – PR), and then a clean single rep at 245, and figured I’d better step up to the plate. Left to my own devices, I probably wouldn’t have gone as heavy, but I’m glad I did. I managed 3 reps at 230#, which according to my notes is 15# above my last recorded 3 RM, but that’s from over two years ago.
B. 4 rounds + 16 reps. 55# per hand for the lunges (probably could have gone heavier here, because these felt strong), and I decided to do strict pullups rather than kipped.
A) 165# for 3, 175# for 2 reps. My previous recorded 1RM was 165# so all my struggling with front squat work is paying off. Yippee!!
B) 4 + 10. Handstand shoulder touches, 35# per hand for the lunges and kipping pull-ups. My shoulders were dying during this workout. All those DB presses and snatch grip press from earlier this week are making themselves known tonight.
A. Did 3 x 155#. Had no idea where I might end up on this as I don’t think I’ve ever done a heavy 3. Felt reasonably solid.
B. 4 + 1. Used 20# for the lunges, ring rows and did the shoulder touches against the wall for the first time. Much harder than on a box. Was worried about soreness with the lunges as they always slay me. Some soreness but not too bad so I chose the weight well.
Oh and Doug’s front squats were amazing to behold.
