Getting into the gym… and out of your head.

Scaling (modifying) a movement, several movements, or even an entire workout is not shameful. It’s not wrong. It’s not cheating. It doesn’t make you any less of an athlete. Its not a bad thing. Nobody is judging you for it.

Many of us (myself included!! πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ) find ourselves comparing what we can do to what other people around us can do, or what our brains tell us we “should” be able to do..and we end up feeling less than.

Whether you can string together 30 unbroken flawless pull ups, or struggle to get 10 ring rows… whether you can press 200 lbs overhead, or struggle to lock out a training bar… whether you run 10k every weekend, or always opt for the bike erg when running is programmed… it matters not! At the end of the day, your only competition is you… and every day you walk through the gym doors and move your body in a way that works for you – its a win! Like I always say: “fun and fitness will still be had!”

Injuries and illness happen. Mobility restrictions happen. Hormone fluctuations, surgeries, nutritional changes and sleepless nights happen. Life happens. Remember to celebrate and praise your body for what it can do at all stages, no matter what it might look like. The most important thing is to keep showing up. You deserve it.

Fitness looks different for all of us – and that’s ok! Your journey is your journey. Be proud of yourself for being here. I’m proud of you too. πŸ‘ 🫢🏻
