“Yeah, I used to do that, but I’m too old for that now.”
Ask most people what they did physically as a child, and how it compares to what they do now, and you’ll often get that answer.
Are you actually “too old” to do a headstand, a handstand, or jump on a trampoline, or play sports, or roll around on the lawn with a kid or dog? Is age really the reason? Or is it because you stopped doing that stuff years ago and you’re just not used to it any more?
Because there ARE people in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond who do all of those things I just mentioned. Do we have to be smarter about how we approach these activities compared to our 10-year-old selves who were made of rubber and magic? Yes, absolutely. But it’s not JUST “because we’re old”.
Never stop playing. Never stop learning and exploring your body’s capabilities just because it’s fun. Never stop trying to get stronger and fitter.
Our ability to move well depends on us… moving.
